Terms of service
Last updated: 2026-05-27.
1. What this is
Recipe Pub ("the Service") is an API operated by Recipe Kit ("we," "us"). You access it under one of four plans: Free, Indie, Pro, or Enterprise. Your specific plan is whichever the API key you were issued is tagged with.
2. Acceptable use
You may use the data inside your company or, if you're a consultant, in deliverables you produce for your clients. You may not:
- Resell the raw data or any substantial portion of it as a competing product
- Train a machine-learning model on bulk Recipe Pub responses without an Enterprise license
- Scrape the API beyond your plan's quota by rotating keys or other circumvention
- Use it to harass, defame, or otherwise injure the brands referenced in the data
If your use case feels like one of the above, email us before you start — we'd rather grant you Enterprise terms than catch you on the back end.
3. News URLs and headlines
The Service surfaces news headlines and URLs from public RSS feeds and GDELT. Those headlines and URLs remain owned by their respective publishers. The structured tags Recipe Pub applies to them (entity type, primary tag, sentiment, audience fit, summary, key claim, mentioned brands and ingredients, recipe-kit angle) are ours, and your license to use them is granted under this agreement.
4. Recipe Kit network data
The "network contribution" inside trend scores aggregates engagement signal from food brands publishing through Recipe Kit. The data is aggregated and de-identified at the topic and category level. We do not expose any individual brand's identity, revenue, customer information, or store data through Recipe Pub.
5. Payment, refunds, cancellation
Plans bill monthly via Stripe. Cancel anytime through the customer portal link in any billing email. We will refund any prorated remainder of the current billing period within 5 business days. Quota does not roll over month to month.
6. Service availability
The API runs on Cloudflare Workers + D1 across the global edge. We target 99.9% monthly availability. We do not offer an SLA at Indie or Pro. Enterprise customers get one in their contract.
7. Data accuracy
The Service surfaces signals we believe are accurate, but the underlying sources (DataForSEO, FDA, USDA, FRED, BLS, RSS feeds, GDELT) make their own decisions about accuracy. Use the data as one input among many. We do not warrant fitness for any specific purpose — buying, selling, manufacturing, or regulatory decisions remain yours.
8. Termination
We can suspend or revoke any key that violates this agreement, with email notice. You can stop using the Service at any time by canceling the subscription.
9. Liability cap
Our maximum liability under this agreement is the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim. Indirect, consequential, and punitive damages are excluded to the extent permitted by law.
10. Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming. (Enterprise contracts may specify a different governing law.)
11. Changes
We may update these terms; the "last updated" date at the top of this page will change when we do. Material changes get emailed to active customers at least 30 days before they take effect.
